How to Paint an Eagle
We paint the landscape then the eagle.
Paint an eagle in flight with blurred background and detailed eagle.
It is not easy to stay pale with your tones of the landscape beneath the eagle, but do try!
Take your time painting the background (ground), keep stepping back and looking for parts that art too light or too dark or too bland
Any medium can be used, oil, acrylic, water color, pencil, crayon.
Keep your hills gently sloping in so as to create what looks like a valley coming up towards you and only slightly getting darker as it comes towards you.

Until you get to the eagle you can paint over your work again and again and get the tones right.
Do not add any other colors as we are relying on the light blue tones in the middle of the painting to give us good contrast with the darker reddish colors of the eagle.
When you get to painting the eagle you may wish to draw the outline in place, or cut out an eagle from dark cardboard and hold it over your painting to see the best position for the bird. If you are good at painting fine birds then go ahead and paint a detailed bird. If you are not confident with the bird painting then block it in as a dark area and add very little detail as I have.
But what ever you do don’t fiddle with it after you get it looking ok.
